“Since June 2012, winemakers in the region have been producing a version of what’s called Tidal Bay, the first wine appellation for Nova Scotia. The wines must be made from specific grape varieties, 100 per cent grown in Nova Scotia. Gaspereau Vineyards’s Tidal Bay 2014, for example, blends seyval, vidal, chardonnay and New York muscat, while Jost Vineyards’ take is a blend of L’Acadie pinot grigio, ortega and muscat.”
